Garlic Bread

Buttery, garlicky, and crispy on the outside. The perfect side for pasta night.

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp fresh parsley, minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Slice bread in half lengthwise.
  3. Mix softened butter with garlic, parsley, salt, and parmesan if using.
  4. Spread garlic butter generously on cut sides of bread.
  5. Place bread cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake until edges are golden and butter is bubbling.
  7. For extra crispy, broil . Watch carefully.
  8. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • The bread: French baguette, Italian loaf, or ciabatta all work. Use day-old bread for extra crunch.
  • Garlic options: Roasted garlic for a milder, sweeter flavor. Raw for more punch.
  • Cheesy version: Add mozzarella on top for the last 3 minutes of baking.
  • Make ahead: Prepare garlic butter up to 1 week ahead. Refrigerate.
  • Freezer friendly: Spread butter on bread and freeze. Bake from frozen, adding a few minutes.
